"Dateline NBC" spent last weekend filming 51 men lured to a house in the unincorporated community of Mira Loma by the prospect of sex with underage girls or boys as part of its ongoing investigation of Internet sex predators.

After being interviewed on camera by host Chris Hansen, the men left the house only to be met by Riverside County Sheriff's deputies when they stepped outside.

All of the men were booked on suspicion of attempted child molestation, said Sheriff Bob Doyle.

Doyle said when he was contacted about participating in the Dateline "sting," he jumped at the chance.

"This is part of our day-to-day work," Doyle said. "But when we can partner up with a show like 'Dateline,' we're sending a strong message to these dirtbags to stop preying on kids."

The hour-long segment, the third installment in the show's investigation, is tentatively set to run on Feb. 3, said senior investigative producer Allan Maraynes.

Maraynes said the men contacted what they believed to be teenage boys and girls in chat rooms and social networking sites.

In actuality, they were interacting with volunteers from the Web site "Perverted-Justice.com."

The experience of working with Perverted-Justice.com has been enlightening, Maraynes said.

"We are absolutely shocked at the sheer number and the varying walks of life of people involved," he said.
